Job description

PANEL BEATER / VEHICLE PANEL TECHNICIAN
We are seeking skilled Vehicle Panel Technicians to become a part of our dynamic team at our cutting-edge bodyshop located in Birmingham/Solihull. This role offers the chance to work on a range of prestigious vehicles, including supercars, electric, and hybrid models, in a state-of-the-art facility.

POSITION OVERVIEW
Responsibilities Include:
  1. Perform repairs and panel replacements on a variety of vehicles, specializing in prestige, supercar, electric, and hybrid models.
  2. Thoroughly understand and adhere to manufacturer-specific vehicle repair guidelines.
  3. Utilise appropriate tools, equipment, and repair methods as prescribed by manufacturers.
  4. Proficiently use welding, riveting equipment, and vehicle jig systems.
  5. Identify and report any additional damage to the Vehicle Damage Assessor (VDA) and/or Workshop Controller.
  6. Manage the ordering of any necessary additional parts.
  7. Conduct quality inspections upon job completion to ensure the absence of defects.
  8. Maintain compliance with all health and safety protocols, including the use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and maintaining a clean work environment.
  9. Aim for high productivity levels consistently.

CANDIDATE PROFILE
Experience and Skills:
  1. A minimum of 5 years' experience as a Panel Technician in the automotive repair industry.
  2. Up-to-date knowledge of the vehicle repair industry, with a willingness to learn new techniques and processes. Ongoing training will be provided as needed.
  3. Familiarity with computer-based systems, such as EMACS.
  4. Understanding of electric vehicles, ultra-high strength steels, and their respective repair methods.
  5. Demonstrated ability to complete work with meticulous attention to detail and to manufacturer standards.
  6. Ability to work efficiently under pressure and manage workload effectively.
  7. Strong team player with the ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  8. Excellent attention to detail and communication skills.

Qualifications: A.T.A. Certification. M.E.T. Certification. Valid UK Driving Licence.
Working Hours: Monday to Friday: 08:00 am - 06:00 pm, Saturday: 08:00 am - 12:00 pm (on a rotational basis).
Salary: Competitive; to be discussed during the interview.
Location: Birmingham or Solihull (dependant on requirement).
Position Type: Full-Time.
Training: Comprehensive training will be provided as needed for the role (subject to terms and conditions).
