Job Description:

Operations and Maintenance Engineer

Location: Slough, Buckinghamshire, United Kingdom (Remote)

Telent is a technology company enabling critical infrastructure. We are recruiting an Operations & Maintenance Engineer to work on Highways England Contracts, maintaining and commissioning activities within designated areas including M25, M4, M11, M1, A14, M40, A1(M).

This role involves working with a supportive team and using your initiative to solve problems in the field, contributing to the delivery of critical infrastructure services.

Responsibilities include:

• Attending to cable breaks and repairs on copper and fibre cables.
• Completing commissioning of equipment to standards, on time and within budget.
• Addressing equipment issues within Transmission Buildings and Roadside Cabinets.
• Performing maintenance and testing on fibre and copper equipment.
• Completing necessary documentation promptly.

Candidate Requirements:

Previous experience in a similar role, familiarity with fault finding and testing in fibre or copper environments.

Key Requirements:

• Experience with motorway communications or related systems.
• Knowledge of telecommunication networks, copper jointing, fibre splicing & testing.
• Strong health and safety awareness.
• Ability to repair fibre or copper cable breaks.
• Willingness to work overtime or on call when required.
• Full UK Driving Licence.
