Operations and Maintenance Engineer

Location: Slough, Buckinghamshire, United Kingdom (Remote)

We are currently recruiting for an Operations & Maintenance Engineer to work on Highways England Contracts carrying out maintenance and commissioning activities within your designated area, including the M25, M4, M11, M1, A14, M40, and A1(M).

Our operations and maintenance teams are critical in delivering our contracts, whether through maintenance, installation, cabling, or civils works. Help build and maintain the nation's critical infrastructure connected and protected 24/7.

Responsibilities:

• Attending cable breaks and repairing copper and fibre cables to keep the network operational.
• Ensuring all equipment commissioning is completed to standard, on time, and within budget.
• Responding to equipment issues within Transmission Buildings and Roadside Cabinets within your area, day or night.
• Performing general maintenance, commissioning, and testing on fibre and copper equipment.
• Completing all required documentation promptly.

Candidate Requirements:

Previous experience in a similar role, with familiarity in fault finding and testing within fibre or copper environments.

Key Requirements:

• Experience with motorway communications or related systems.
• Knowledge of telecommunication networks, copper jointing, fibre splicing, and testing.
• Strong health and safety awareness.
• Ability to repair fibre or copper cable breaks.
• Willingness to work overtime or on call when required.
• Full UK Driving Licence.
