Job summary

Motofix Group is seeking a skilled Vehicle Paint Technician to restore vehicles to pre-accident condition with expert paint application. You will work in a team, ensuring high-quality workmanship, efficiency, and compliance with industry standards.

Key responsibilities include surface preparation, colour matching using spectrometer, and applying primers and coatings to achieve a flawless finish. A strong focus on safety and teamwork is required.

Qualifications

• Qualified in vehicle paint with IMI/NVQ3 or equivalent.
• Knowledge of modern paint systems and application techniques.
• Experience in colour matching and refinishing.

Responsibilities

• Prepare vehicle surfaces for painting including sanding, priming, and masking.
• Mix and match paint colours using manufacturer specs and spectrometer technology.
• Apply primers, basecoats and clearcoats for flawless finishes.
• Carry out smart repairs and blending where required.
• Ensure work meets manufacturer and BS 10125 standards.
• Collaborate with panel technicians, estimators, and workshop controllers to optimise repair processes.
• Minimise rework by delivering right-first-time paint applications.
• Colour tinting and detailing to meet manufacturer and customer expectations.
• Follow health and safety regulations to maintain a safe workshop.

About The Role

As a Vehicle Paint Technician, you will play a key role in restoring vehicles to their pre-accident condition through expert paint application and finishing techniques. Working as part of a skilled team, you will ensure high-quality workmanship, operational efficiency, and compliance with industry standards.

Your Responsibilities Will Include

• Preparing vehicle surfaces for painting, including sanding, priming, and masking.
• Mixing and matching paint colours using manufacturer specifications and spectrometer technology.
• Applying primers, basecoats, and clearcoats to achieve a flawless finish.
• Carrying out smart repairs and blending techniques where required.
• Ensuring all work meets manufacturer and BSI 10125 standards.
• Collaborating with panel technicians, estimators, and workshop controllers to optimise repair processes.

Contracted Hours: 42.5 hrs per week

Attended Hours: Monday-Friday

Salary: £23-£26 p/hr (OTE)
