Job summary

Auto Skills UK is recruiting a Paint Sprayer / Paint Technician for a professional Bodyshop in Rochdale. You will prepare and refinish vehicles, ensuring all paintwork is completed efficiently and to a consistently high standard.

This full-time, permanent role offers a salary up to £59,500+ DOE with a pay increase following successful probation, a structured Monday–Friday 7am–5pm week, and long-term career development in a quality workshop environment.

Qualifications

• Experience in a professional Bodyshop or accident repair environment.
• Recognised qualification in vehicle refinishing (NVQ / IMI / City & Guilds / ATA or equivalent).
• Strong knowledge of modern vehicle paint systems, colour matching and refinishing techniques.
• Excellent attention to detail and pride in delivering high-quality workmanship.
• Full UK driving licence.

Responsibilities

• Prepare vehicle surfaces for refinishing, including sanding, filling, masking and priming.
• Mix and apply paint using spray equipment and techniques.
• Carry out colour matching, blending and refinishing for a high-quality finish.
• Inspect completed paintwork and rectify imperfections.
• Work closely with panel beaters and other workshop technicians to maintain efficiency.
• Complete allocated repairs within timescales while maintaining quality.
• Follow health and safety procedures when handling paints and solvents.
• Maintain spray equipment, tools and the workspace in a clean, professional condition.

THE ROLE

As a Paint Sprayer / Paint Technician, you'll be responsible for preparing and refinishing vehicles, ensuring all paintwork is completed efficiently and to a consistently high standard.

Key responsibilities include:

• Preparing vehicle surfaces for refinishing, including sanding, filling, masking, and priming.
• Mixing and applying paint using appropriate spray equipment and techniques.
• Carrying out colour matching, blending, and refinishing work to achieve a high-quality finish.
• Inspecting completed paintwork and rectifying imperfections where required.
• Working closely with Panel Beaters and other workshop technicians to maintain an efficient repair process.
• Completing allocated repairs within agreed timescales while maintaining excellent workmanship.
• Following appropriate health and safety procedures when handling paints, solvents, and workshop equipment.
• Maintaining spray equipment, tools, and the working area in a clean and professional condition.

ABOUT YOU

This opportunity would suit an experienced Paint Sprayer / Paint Technician / Paint Refinisher / Vehicle Painter who takes pride in producing high-quality finishes.

You’ll ideally have:

• Previous experience as a Paint Sprayer or Paint Technician within a professional Bodyshop or accident repair environment.
• Recognised qualification in Vehicle Refinishing (NVQ / IMI / City & Guilds / ATA or equivalent).
• Strong knowledge of modern vehicle paint systems, colour matching, blending, and refinishing techniques.
• Excellent attention to detail and pride in delivering high-quality workmanship.
• The ability to work efficiently while maintaining consistently high standards.
• Strong organisation and the ability to work effectively as part of a skilled workshop team.
