Job summary

Volkswagen Group UK Ltd in Milton Keynes is seeking an Outbound Logistics & Planning Manager to lead its finished-vehicle logistics and capacity planning.

You will manage the supplier network, budget around £120m, and work across brands, ports and retailers to keep vehicles moving efficiently while complying with transport rules.

This role requires strong decision-making, disruption recovery, and leadership of one direct report, with a Monday–Thursday 09:00–17:30 pattern and Friday 09:00–16:15.

Qualifications

• Extensive experience in finished-vehicle logistics and complex supply chains.
• Strong knowledge of UK transport networks and carrier models.
• Understanding of UK transport legislation (Driver CPC, Working Time Directive).
• Experience managing time-critical operations across multiple suppliers.
• End-to-end capacity planning and disruption recovery experience.
• Budget and cost control capability.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management.
• Degree in Logistics or CPC qualification.

Responsibilities

• Oversee outbound vehicle logistics and delivery planning.
• Manage delivery supplier network and budget (~£120m).
• Develop end-to-end capacity plan with brand sales and production.
• Compare planned volumes with capacity and adjust as needed.
• Allocate transport capacity and maintain contingencies.
• Make time-critical decisions during disruption.
• Investigate recurring delivery and supplier issues.
• Manage outbound supplier KPIs and contracts.
• Coordinate tenders and renewals with Procurement.
• Monitor expenditure and seek value improvements.
• Ensure compliance with transport legislation and safety.
• Lead and develop one direct report.
