Job summary

Pertemps Warrington is seeking a Vehicle Maintenance Technician at the Middlesbrough depot. The role involves servicing, inspection and repair of the fleet to ensure safe, compliant operation.

A rotating shift from 6am to 9pm, with some weekends, is required. The successful candidate will be an experienced HGV technician with a Class 1 licence and CPC, comfortable with hazardous tankers, and capable of working with minimal supervision in a busy, safety-focused environment.

Qualifications

• Must be time served as an HGV technician.
• Experience with hazardous vehicles and tankers is advantageous.
• Must hold a valid Class 1 licence with CPC certification (3–5 years).

Responsibilities

• Undertake planned and defect maintenance on mechanical and cryogenic systems.
• Liaise with external maintenance contractors as required.
• Minimise vehicle downtime and respond to peak demands for availability.
• Ensure safety procedures are followed and support safety agendas.
• Couple/uncouple motive units from tankers/trailers.

Based at the Middlesbrough depot, this permanent Vehicle Maintenance Technician role supports the safe and efficient running of a fleet for a global industrial gases and engineering business. Working a rotating shift pattern between 6am and 9pm, including some weekends, the successful candidate will carry out servicing, inspection and repair work on vehicles and associated equipment, diagnosing faults and ensuring compliance with safety and operational standards. Practical mechanical skills, attention to detail and the ability to work unsupervised are essential. As the Vehicle Maintenance Technician your duties will be;

The successful Vehicle Maintenance Technician will have the following skills;

• Must be time served HGV Technician.
• Must have a solid work history within a similar role, working on hazardous vehicles and tankers would be advantageous.
• Must hold a valid Class 1 licence with CPC certification (for a minimum of 3-5 years).
• Experience with working on DAF tankers/trailers.
• Computer literate.
• High level of safety awareness.
• Flexible to work a rotating shift pattern, including weekends.
