Job summary

Bulkhaul Limited in Middlesbrough is seeking an experienced HGV Technician to service and repair our fleet in a modern workshop. You will perform safety inspections, diagnostics, and MOT preparation, ensuring uptime across tractors and trailers.

The role requires shift work (6:00-14:00 and 13:00-21:00), a Full UK Driving Licence, NVQ 3 in Heavy Vehicle Maintenance and Repair, and ideally a Class 1 HGV Licence. We offer 40-hour weeks, boots and overalls, and competitive hourly pay.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 3 in Heavy Vehicle Maintenance and Repair.
• Full UK Driving Licence.
• Class 1 HGV Licence (desired but not essential).
• Good knowledge of hydraulic, electrical systems and light fabrication.

Responsibilities

• Carrying out safety inspections, servicing and repair on our expanding fleet of vehicles and trailers.
• Carry out diagnostics on tractors and trailers.
• Carry out thorough MOT preparations in line with our excellent pass record.
• Carrying out roadside repairs.
• Road test vehicles when required.

Position Overview

We are looking for an experienced HGV Technician to join our modern and well-equipped workshop facilities in Middlesbrough. The successful candidate will carry out routine servicing and safety inspections as well as diagnostics and repairs across our vehicle and trailer fleet with access to manufacturer specific custody stock.

Key Responsibilities

• Carrying out safety inspections, servicing and repair on our expanding fleet of vehicles and trailers.

• Road test vehicles when required.

Core Skills

• Ability to work under pressure, meet deadlines and carry out servicing efficiently.
• Experience with diagnostic equipment.
• Have good knowledge and understanding of MOT requirements and regulations.
• Be able to adapt to repair and service specialist equipment across the fleet
• Work safely and efficiently in a team to minimise vehicle downtime
• Ability to work shifts (6.00-14.00 and 13.00-21.00)

What you can expect in return?
