Job summary

Pertemps North West and North Wales is recruiting a Vehicle Maintenance Technician in St Helens (WA10) for a permanent role with rotating shifts 6am-9pm and some weekends. Salary £45,635 plus allowances and bonus, plus pension.

You will undertake planned and defect maintenance on mechanical and cryogenic systems, liaise with external contractors, minimise downtime, and ensure safety procedures. You should be a time-served HGV technician with Class 1 CPC, experience on DAF tankers, computer

Qualifications

• Must be time served HGV Technician.
• Must have a solid work history in a similar role, working on hazardous vehicles and tankers would be advantageous.
• Must hold a valid Class 1 licence with CPC certification (3-5 years).
• Experience with working on DAF tankers/trailers.
• Computer literate.
• High level of safety awareness.
• Flexible to work a rotating shift pattern, including weekends.
• Excellent team player.

Responsibilities

• Undertake Planned & Defect Maintenance activities for both Mechanical and Cryogenic Systems.
• Liaise as and when required with external maintenance contractors and other bodies e.g. DAF.
• Minimise vehicle downtime and react to peak demands for vehicle availability.
• Consistently ensure all safety procedures are followed, playing a key role in safety agendas.
• Coupling and uncoupling of motive units/towing vehicles from tankers/trailers.
