Job summary

Probe UK is seeking a Vehicle Conversion Technician to join a fast-growing manufacturing team. You will develop and install specialist equipment across a range of vehicles, performing surveys, data capture and component installation alongside the design team.

A practical, mechanically minded approach and strong problem-solving skills are essential, with the ability to read technical drawings and work to deadlines while communicating clearly across teams. A UK driving licence is required.

Qualifications

• Industrial/mechanical engineering experience.
• Able to read technical drawings; CAD useful but not essential.
• Full UK driving licence.
• Good communication and MS Office skills.
• Able to work independently and meet deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Work alongside the Engineer to develop new vehicle conversion kits.
• Carry out vehicle surveys, measurements and data capture.
• Check, maintain and validate engineering data.
• Fabricate and install specialist mobility equipment.
• Produce clear technical documentation and installation information.
• Support parts, kit and development activities.

Vehicle Conversion Technician Role Overview

You will be developing and installing specialist equipment across a range of vehicles.

You'll combine vehicle surveys, data capture, fabrication, power tools and equipment installation, working closely with the design team to develop and validate new conversion kits.

A practical, mechanically minded approach and a knack for solving problems and making things work is essential.

Vehicle Conversion Technician Candidate Requirements

• Practical engineering experience with a strong mechanical focus
• Comfortable using hand and power tools
• Able to read and interpret technical drawings and engineering information (CAD experience is useful, but not essential)
• Knowledge of vehicle construction, components and functionality
• A practical, logical approach to problem-solving, with the ability to work independently and meet deadlines
• Good communication and Microsoft Office skills
• A full UK driving licence is essential.
