Job summary

RSM UK in Manchester is seeking an Associate Director to lead VAT engagements for a portfolio of mid-market to large clients, overseeing delivery and client relationships. You will partner with Partners and Directors to drive business development, manage a team of VAT specialists, and ensure high-quality advisory across the region.

The role offers hybrid working and a clear path to senior leadership within the VAT practice.

Qualifications

• Experience at Manager or Associate Director level or evidence of the required skill set.
• Experience of winning work and unlocking fees from the existing client base.
• Ability to mentor junior staff and lead a VAT team.
• Strong commerciality with the ability to implement and meet targets.
• Excellent communication and influencing skills with client management experience.
• Experience and interest in business development and converting relationships into fees.

Responsibilities

• Identify and advise on a wide range of VAT matters and undertake specialist technical assignments.
• Lead due diligence projects and take ownership of a client portfolio.
• Proactively seek opportunities to generate new business.
• Develop an advanced level of technical knowledge through personal development opportunities.
• Collaborate with partners and directors across all service lines to go to market and support regional business development.
