Job summary

The Lanes Group plc, the UK's largest independent provider of water and wastewater solutions, is recruiting a Van Pack Engineer to join our Edinburgh-based Operational Team. You will work with an established crew to expand our field capability and support essential drainage projects.

Location: Edinburgh. Hours: Mon-Fri, 40 hours. Salary: up to £14 per hour, depending on experience. We offer 21 days holiday plus Bank Holidays, pension, death in service, and uncapped earning potential.

Qualifications

• Full UK driving licence with no more than 6 points.
• WJA cert or equivalent water jetting qualifications.
• Certifications and training related to safety and sewer work.

Responsibilities

• Attend to customers, informing them of works and addressing concerns.
• Inspect drainage systems to identify blockages, leaks or damage.
• Report findings/data to the appropriate teams and enter data.
• Operate high-pressure water jetting equipment to clear blockages.
• Adjust pressure based on system condition and blockage type.
• Assist with CCTV inspections when required.

About the role:

The Lanes Group needs a Van Pack Engineer to join our Operational Team in Edinburgh working withing a well established team that are looking to expand further with another strong member of staff.

• Hours: Monday to Friday 40 hours per week
• Salary: up to £14 per hour depending on experience

As a Van Pack Operator, you will be:

• Attending to customers, informing them of works due to be carried out and answering any concerns
• Inspect drainage systems to identify blockages, leaks, or damage that could hinder water flow.
• reporting all findings / data to the appropriate teams
• assisting with all aspects of high pressure water jetting
• Operate high-pressure water jetting equipment to clean and clear blockages in drains, sewers, pipes, and other wastewater systems.
• Adjust pressure levels based on the condition of the system and the nature of the blockage (e.g., grease, debris, or tree roots).
• Use the equipment to remove waste materials and prevent build-up in drains and sewer lines.
• Competent in using an electronic device - laptop / tablet for data entry purposes
• Ensuring safety issues are reported in line with company procedures
• Perform routine maintenance and servicing of high-pressure water jetting equipment to ensure it is in proper working order.
• Assist with CCTV inspections where required to assess the condition of underground pipes and sewers.

Experience and Qualifications: (Desirable but not essential unless stated as required)
