Job summary

The Lanes Group is seeking a Van Pack Engineer to join our Operational Team in Sheffield. You will work with an established team to expand our service capabilities in drainage and wastewater systems.

We offer 21 days holiday plus Bank Holidays, pension, and death in service benefits, with uncapped earning potential. You will be trained to inspect, jet, and maintain equipment while ensuring safe operation and data recording.

Qualifications

• Full UK driving licence with no more than 6 points and valid on the job site.
• Certificates in Water Jetting and safety training are preferred.
• Ability to work in drainage and high pressure jetting environments.
• Compliance with health and safety requirements.

Responsibilities

• Attend to customers and inform them of works due to be carried out.
• Inspect drainage systems to identify blockages, leaks or damage.
• Report findings to the appropriate teams.
• Assist with high-pressure water jetting operations.
• Operate jetting equipment to clear drains and sewers.
• Adjust pressures based on system condition and blockage type.
• Remove waste materials and prevent build-up in pipes.
• Use laptops/tablets for data entry and maintain safety records.
• Perform routine maintenance on jetting equipment.
• Assist with CCTV inspections when required.

About the role:

The Lanes Group needs a Van Pack Engineer to join our Operational Team in Sheffield working withing a well established team that are looking to expand further with another strong member of staff.

• Location: Sheffield
• Hours: Monday to Friday 40 hours per week
• Salary: up to £16 per hour depending on experience

As a Van Pack Operator, you will be:

• Attending to customers, informing them of works due to be carried out and answering any concerns
• Inspect drainage systems to identify blockages, leaks, or damage that could hinder water flow.
• reporting all findings / data to the appropriate teams
• assisting with all aspects of high pressure water jetting
• Operate high-pressure water jetting equipment to clean and clear blockages in drains, sewers, pipes, and other wastewater systems.
• Adjust pressure levels based on the condition of the system and the nature of the blockage (e.g., grease, debris, or tree roots).
• Use the equipment to remove waste materials and prevent build-up in drains and sewer lines.
• Competent in using an electronic device - laptop / tablet for data entry purposes
• Ensuring safety issues are reported in line with company procedures
• Perform routine maintenance and servicing of high-pressure water jetting equipment to ensure it is in proper working order.
• Assist with CCTV inspections where required to assess the condition of underground pipes and sewers.
