Job summary

The Lanes Group are seeking a Van Pack Operator to join our Derby operations. Working with an established team, you will attend sites, inform customers of works and use high‑pressure jetting gear to clear blockages in drains and sewers.

Responsibilities include inspecting drainage systems, reporting findings to the appropriate teams, carrying out routine maintenance on equipment, and assisting with CCTV inspections when required. A full UK driving licence is essential.

Qualifications

• Full UK driving license is required with no more than 6 points.
• Water Jetting Association red or blue book preferred.
• Banksman, manual handling and safety training desirable.
• Emergency First Aid, NRSWA and EUSR Water Hygiene qualifications preferred.
• Medium risk confined space training is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Attend to customers, informing them of works and addressing concerns.
• Inspect drainage systems to identify blockages, leaks, or damage that could hinder water flow.
• Report findings to the appropriate teams.
• Assist with high pressure water jetting operations.
• Operate high‑pressure water jetting equipment to clean and clear blockages in drains, sewers, pipes, and other wastewater systems.
• Adjust pressure levels based on the condition of the system and the nature of the blockage.
• Use the equipment to remove waste materials and prevent build‑up in drains and sewer lines.
• Competent in using an electronic device for data entry purposes.
• Ensure safety issues are reported in line with company procedures.
• Perform routine maintenance and servicing of high‑pressure water jetting equipment.
• Assist with CCTV inspections where required to assess the condition of underground pipes and sewers.

About The Role

The Lanes Group needs a Van Pack Engineer to join our Operational Team in Derby working withing a well established team that are looking to expand further with another strong member of staff.

• Location: Derby
• Hours: Monday to Friday 40 hours per week
• Salary: up to £14 per hour depending on experience

As a Van Pack Operator, You Will Be

• Attending to customers, informing them of works due to be carried out and answering any concerns
• Inspect drainage systems to identify blockages, leaks, or damage that could hinder water flow.
• reporting all findings / data to the appropriate teams
• assisting with all aspects of high pressure water jetting
• Operate high-pressure water jetting equipment to clean and clear blockages in drains, sewers, pipes, and other wastewater systems.
• Adjust pressure levels based on the condition of the system and the nature of the blockage (e.g., grease, debris, or tree roots).
• Use the equipment to remove waste materials and prevent build-up in drains and sewer lines.
• Competent in using an electronic device - laptop / tablet for data entry purposes
• Ensuring safety issues are reported in line with company procedures
• Perform routine maintenance and servicing of high-pressure water jetting equipment to ensure it is in proper working order.
• Assist with CCTV inspections where required to assess the condition of underground pipes and sewers.

Experience and Qualifications: (Desirable but not essential unless stated as required)
