Job summary

The Lanes Group plc is seeking a Van Pack Engineer to join our Derby-based Operational Team. You will work with a well-established crew, operating high-pressure water jetting equipment to clear blockages in drains and sewers, while reporting findings and maintaining safety protocols.

Role involves attending to customers, inspecting drainage systems, and assisting with CCTV inspections where required. Full UK driving license with limited points is required, with hours Monday to Friday, up to 14

Qualifications

• Experience or willingness to operate high-pressure water jetting equipment.
• Valid UK driving licence with minimal points.
• Desirable: Water Jetting Association Red or Blue Book; NRSWA; EUSR Water Hygiene.

Responsibilities

• Attend to customers and inform them of planned works and address concerns.
• Inspect drainage systems to identify blockages or leaks that affect flow.
• Report findings to the relevant teams and data entry when required.
• Assist with high-pressure water jetting operations and adjust pressure as needed.
• Operate jetting equipment to clear blockages in drains, sewers, and pipes.
• Ensure safety issues are reported per procedures.
• Perform routine maintenance on jetting equipment.
• Assist with CCTV inspections when required.

About the role:

The Lanes Group needs a Van Pack Engineer to join our Operational Team in Derby working withing a well established team that are looking to expand further with another strong member of staff.

• Location: Derby
• Hours: Monday to Friday 40 hours per week
  
• Salary: up to £14 per hour depending on experience

As a Van Pack Operator, you will be:

• Attending to customers, informing them of works due to be carried out and answering any concerns
• Inspect drainage systems to identify blockages, leaks, or damage that could hinder water flow.
• reporting all findings / data to the appropriate teams
• assisting with all aspects of high pressure water jetting
• Operate high-pressure water jetting equipment to clean and clear blockages in drains, sewers, pipes, and other wastewater systems.
• Adjust pressure levels based on the condition of the system and the nature of the blockage (e.g., grease, debris, or tree roots).
• Use the equipment to remove waste materials and prevent build-up in drains and sewer lines.
• Competent in using an electronic device - laptop / tablet for data entry purposes
• Ensuring safety issues are reported in line with company procedures
• Perform routine maintenance and servicing of high-pressure water jetting equipment to ensure it is in proper working order.
• Assist with CCTV inspections where required to assess the condition of underground pipes and sewers.

Experience and Qualifications: (Desirable but not essential unless stated as required)

• Full UK driving license(Required) with no more than 6 points
• Water Jetting Association Red or blue book
• Banksman
• Manual Handling
• Emergency First Aid

• EUSR National Water Hygiene
• Medium risk confined space
