Job summary

Cats Protection is seeking a Van Driver for the Skipton Superstore to support our Retail team. Location: Skipton, commutable distance required. 21 hours per week, permanent contract, starting November 2026.

You will transport donated and purchased goods, furniture and bulky stock between customers, donors and stores, using a Luton van with tail lift where required. A full UK driving license and ability to drive Retail fleet vehicles is essential.

Qualifications

• Previous experience driving a commercial vehicle (manual) and navigating variable conditions.
• Experience handling furniture or bulky stock and following manual handling guidelines.
• Physically able to lift and move large donations per health and safety guidance.
• Excellent organisational and planning skills to prioritise workload.
• Hold a full valid UK driving licence and willingness to drive Retail fleet vehicles.
• Flexibility to travel within the region.

Responsibilities of our Van Driver:

• The Superstore Van Driver plays a key role in supporting the success of the Superstore by ensuring the safe,efficientandtimelycollection,deliveryand movement of stock across the Cats Protection retail network. This includes transporting donated andpurchasedgoods, furniture, electrical items and other bulky stock between customers,donorsand stores.

About the retail team:

• Our retail operation consists of over 80 charity shops

• Each of our shops has its own charm and personality due to our dedicated volunteers and colleagues. From vintagejewelryand jigsaws to harps and handbags, whether our customers are looking for that 'must have' item or simply a 'missing piece'.

What we're looking for in our Van Driver:

• Previousexperience of driving a commercial vehicle (manual), driving in variableconditionsand using Satellite Navigation equipment

• Experience of handling furniture, bulky items or retail stock and following manual handling guidelines

• Physically able to safely lift and move large donationsin accordance withmanual handling procedures and health and safety guidance.

• Excellent organisational and planning skills, with the ability to prioritise workload and manage multiple collections and deliveries efficiently.

• Hold afullvalid UK drivinglicenceand willing to drive Retail fleet vehicles including a Luton van (with tail lift)

• Flexibility to travel within the region asrequired
