Job summary

The Diocese of Chelmsford is seeking an IT & Systems Support Officer to provide first-line support for our business systems and technology infrastructure. You will help staff utilise our systems effectively and ensure smooth day-to-day IT operations across the organisation.

Key duties include supporting the core database (DMS) and other databases, training users, and acting as the on-site IT contact in collaboration with our external provider.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting business systems or databases in a user-facing role.
• Experience troubleshooting applications or system issues and collaborating to resolve them.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills; able to explain technical topics clearly.
• Calm, methodical approach to problem-solving in time-pressured situations.

Responsibilities

• Provide first-line functional support for core databases and software applications.
• Deliver informal and formal training on database systems and reporting tools.
• Coordinate with reception to ensure IT readiness of meeting spaces and respond to in-meeting issues.
• Serve as on-site point of contact for IT issues escalated to the outsourced provider.
• Support equipment and systems not managed by the provider, including phones and printers.
