Job summary

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a part-time receptionist to work within the fast paced Urgent Treatment Centre at Weymouth Community Hospital. This post is a 12 hour permanent position and follows a 4 week rolling shift pattern, working between the hours of 0800 and 2000, 365 days a year.

As the first point of contact for patients coming into the department, the successful candidate will be enthusiastic and motivated, have a flexible approach to working and have excellent interpersonal

Qualifications

• Educated to GCSE level or equivalent experience.
• Administration and/or IT qualification.
• Previous experience in healthcare environment.

Responsibilities

• Handle enquiries from patients, relatives and clinical colleagues face-to-face, by email and over the phone.
• Book patients on arrival and update health records using electronic systems.
• File patient data, arrange appointments and process referrals for patient pathways.
• Email correspondence and support discharge letter production and distribution.
• Maintain local standard operating procedures, manage purchasing and collect data.
