Job summary

Envision Education is seeking a SEND Teaching Assistant in Bushey to support pupils with profound learning difficulties and complex needs. You’ll help develop communication, confidence, independence and life skills within a nurturing school environment.

The role is full-time, Monday to Friday, 9:00am–3:30pm, with opportunities for ongoing CPD and professional development within a specialist SEND setting.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting children or young people with SEND (minimum 3 months).
• Caring, patient and compassionate approach.
• An enhanced DBS via Update Service or willingness to obtain one.
• Right to work in the UK.

Responsibilities

• Support the class teacher with engaging and accessible lessons.
• Provide 1:1 and small-group support tailored to individual needs.
• Encourage pupils' communication, confidence and independence.
• Support pupils with sensory, physical and personal care needs as required.

We are seeking a dedicated SEND Teaching Assistant to join a specialist school in Bushey, supporting pupils with profound learning difficulties and complex additional needs. This is a full-time position starting in September, working Monday to Friday, 9:00am-3:30pm.

Essential

• Previous experience working with children or young people with SEND (minimum 3 months).
• A caring, patient, and compassionate approach.
• An enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willingness to obtain one.
• Right to work in the UK.

Desirable

• Level 3 qualification in Supporting Teaching and Learning or a Bachelor's Degree.
• Knowledge of PECS, Makaton, AAC, sensory strategies, or other communication approaches.
