Job summary

The University of Bath invites applications for a Senior Security Officer to lead a team and help keep our students, staff and visitors safe. This is a hands-on leadership role where you’ll supervise Security Officers, respond to incidents, support people in challenging situations, and work with emergency services when required.

The role involves 24/7 rotating shifts, CCTV, patrols, access control, and campus security across main campus and off-site buildings.

Qualifications

• Experience leading security teams and handling incidents.
• Ability to remain calm under pressure and communicate clearly.
• Valid UK driving licence and SIA Door Supervisor licence; First Aid at Work.
• Willingness to work 24/7 shifts including nights.

Responsibilities

• Lead a team of Security Officers and supervise patrols.
• Respond to incidents and emergencies and liaise with emergency services.
• Oversee CCTV, access control and campus security.
• Manage welfare concerns and incident reporting.
