Job summary

University of Strathclyde is seeking a Security Officer based in Glasgow to guard, watch and patrol, helping to prevent crime, preserve order and protect life and property on campus.

The role requires physical fitness, the ability to respond quickly in emergencies, and experience in security or safeguarding, including operating security systems and first aid. 1.0 FTE (35 hours per week) with a salary of £24,685–£25,804 plus 25% shift allowance.

Qualifications

• Candidates should be able to undertake physically demanding duties.
• Able to respond quickly in emergency situations.
• Previous security or safeguarding experience and operation of security systems.

Based in Safety, Wellbeing and Resilience, you will be part of a team which provides a customer focussed safeguarding Service. You will guard, watch and patrol to prevent Crime, preserve order and protect life and property as well as contributing to the reduction of accidents and an assurance that safety rules are observed.

Candidates should be able to undertake physically demanding duties and be able to respond quickly in emergency situations. Previous experience of security or safeguarding roles, including the operation of security systems and the ability to provide first aid are important. You will also be required to carry out stewarding and safety duties at special occasions, private functions and dinners.
