Excelcare is seeking a proactive DWP Universal Credit Support Officer to assist residents with housing-related benefits and Universal Credit procedures. You will verify rent, help with claims, liaise with external agencies, and guide residents through welfare entitlements.

Qualifikationen

• Excellent communication and problem solving skills.
• Strong practical knowledge of Universal Credit, particularly housing costs.
• Experience with Universal Credit claims, housing costs, claimant case management, verification or decision making would be advantageous.

Aufgaben

• Support residents in understanding and accessing Universal Credit and other housing related benefits.
• Support residents with Universal Credit housing cost claims, including new claims and changes of circumstances.
• Assist residents with Universal Credit journal requirements relating to their housing costs.
• Assess rent levels and ensure accurate documentation for benefit claims.
• Understand and assist with DWP requirements relating to verification of rent, service charges and tenancy information.
• Liaise with the DWP, local authorities, housing providers and other external partners.
• Provide clear guidance on benefit changes, entitlements and compliance.
• Maintain accurate records and ensure timely follow up on all cases.
• Advocate for residents to ensure fair and appropriate outcomes.
• Assist with DWP queries and requests for additional information or evidence.
