Candidate Profile

The ideal candidate is an FI/D&O underwriting professional with strong experience in this sector. The focus is on the SME - Mid Market region, with business written globally. The role involves developing new business as well as managing renewals.

Key Responsibilities

1. Underwriting & Risk Assessment: Underwrite and negotiate D&O and FI accounts, ensuring risk quality aligns with company strategy and individual authority.
2. Business Development: Drive new business, maintain broker relationships, and meet targets for Gross Written Premium (GWP).
3. Portfolio Ownership: Own underwriting decisions and oversee the development and profitability of your portfolio.
4. Relationship Management: Build and sustain effective relationships with brokers, insurers, and clients, including travel and entertainment where necessary.
5. Client Meetings: Facilitate reciprocal visits, participate actively, and lead meetings when appropriate.
6. Compliance: Ensure all activities comply with legislation, agreements, and industry standards.
7. Market Awareness: Keep informed about market conditions, especially in SME and mid-market D&O and FI segments.
8. Strategic Contribution: Support strategic planning, seek new markets, and identify growth opportunities, including pipeline management.
9. Team Leadership & Development: Mentor junior underwriters, support their growth, and improve team processes.
10. Risk Management & Compliance: Adhere to FCA regulations, maintain documentation, and follow risk practices.
