Role: Credit Underwriter / Credit Risk Analyst

Location: Fully remote (UK only)

They’re now looking for someone to help them grow by joining as a Credit Underwriter / Credit Risk Analyst.

This is a hands-on position, ideal for someone who thrives on variety. You’ll be making real-time credit decisions while also using SQL and Python to support wider portfolio analysis. Whether you’re an experienced underwriter with a growing interest in analytics, or already blending both, this role offers the chance to stretch yourself and make an impact.

To succeed, you’ll need experience underwriting unsecured personal loans or be an analyst comfortable assisting with underwriting. A good understanding of credit risk is essential. You should be comfortable working independently, spotting risks, and making confident decisions that balance risk with growth.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Reviewing and assessing consumer credit applications across a growing portfolio
  • Engaging with customers to gather additional information
  • Spotting risk and fraud, and making well-reasoned credit decisions
  • Supporting analytics projects using SQL and Python (bonus)
  • Generating insights on performance and shaping credit strategy
  • Collaborating across teams to improve processes and outcomes
  • Taking ownership of your work in a fast-paced, fully remote environment

Desired experience:

  • Underwriting in UK consumer lending, especially unsecured loans
  • Working with credit risk strategies and affordability models
  • Using SQL or Python, or willingness to learn
  • Balancing commercial thinking with attention to detail
  • Clear communication and decision-making under pressure
  • Experience working remotely with trust, autonomy, and collaboration
