Are you an experienced Medical Underwriter looking for a new challenge? Zurich Corporate Risk, one of the fastest growing group risk providers in the market, has been established for over 10 years and continues to grow. We are seeking an experienced Medical Underwriter to join our team.

As a Medical Underwriter, you will make sound underwriting decisions for group life and income protection schemes, supporting our growth and maintaining high standards.

Responsibilities:

1. Make medical underwriting decisions within authority limits, aligned with Zurich’s philosophy.
2. Provide technical support and guidance to customers and distributors, ensuring excellent service.
3. Stay updated with medical underwriting practices considering market conditions.
4. Enhance process efficiency using best practices.
5. Meet key business, team, and individual KPIs.
6. Liaise with Medical Officers and reassurance companies as needed.
7. Maintain external distributor relationships, ensuring correct evidence and decisions.
8. Handle queries and referrals within authority limits, assessing risk.
9. Identify process improvement opportunities.
10. Ensure compliance and governance standards are maintained.
11. Share best practices within the team.
12. Deliver exceptional service to stakeholders.
13. Support team culture and take ownership of workload.

Candidate profile:

• Experience in medical underwriting within corporate or protection sectors.
• CII Diploma in Underwriting preferred.
• Knowledge of UK corporate risk market.
• Strong understanding of underwriting principles, regulations, and guidelines.
• Excellent risk assessment and decision-making skills.
• Attention to detail and focus on quality.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to build relationships with stakeholders.
• Passionate about customer service and continuous improvement.
