Job summary

Intact Insurance in Manchester is seeking a Delegated Property & Liability Underwriter to join our Delegated Underwriting team on a hybrid basis. You will underwrite and negotiate complex Property & Liability risks for delegated authority brokers and build strong broker relationships.

The role requires experience in property and liability insurance, with a strong eye for detail, strategic thinking, and excellent communication. Hybrid working, competitive rewards, and career development await.

Qualifications

• Experience of Property & Liability Insurance from an Underwriting background.
• A sharp eye for detail and a head for strategy.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to build broker relationships.
• Existing broker relationships would be beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Work with Delegated Authority Insurance Brokers, underwriting and negotiating Property & Liability business outside brokers' binding authority.
• Build and maintain excellent broker relationships through regular engagement.
• Apply pricing strategies and risk assessment techniques to drive profitable growth.
• Collaborate with colleagues to share insights and improve underwriting practices.
• Contribute to process improvements and support broker team ideas.
• Represent the brand at broker meetings, industry events, and field visits as needed.

We are currently recruiting for a Delegated Property & Liability Underwriter to join our Delegated Underwriting team in Manchester or Bristol on a hybrid basis.

You’ll make an impact by:

• Working with Delegated Authority Insurance Brokers, underwriting and negotiating Property & Liability business that falls outside of the brokers binding authority
• Building and maintaining excellent broker relationships through regular engagement
• Applying pricing strategies and risk assessment techniques to drive profitable growth

• Representing our brand at broker meetings, industry events, and field visits as needed
