Job summary

Welex Group is seeking a commercially driven General Manager UK to lead and grow our UK branch. You’ll manage two staff, drive strategy, develop new business, and ensure efficient day-to-day operations.

The role requires hands-on leadership in budgeting, planning and logistics, with strong ownership and initiative. You’ll be responsible for identifying opportunities, expanding the team as needed, and delivering sustainable financial performance while maintaining a practical, entrepreneurial

Qualifications

• Experience in commercial, operational or general management.
• Proven experience establishing, developing or growing a business, branch or unit.
• Strong entrepreneurial mindset with initiative.
• Experience managing, coaching and developing employees.
• Budgeting, cost control and performance management.
• Think strategically while staying hands-on in daily operations.
• Excellent English communication skills.
• Experience in equipment rental, construction, infrastructure, logistics or engineering is a strong advantage.

Responsibilities

• Strategy & growth: Develop a clear UK branch strategy and translate growth objectives into plans.
• Business development: Build/maintain relationships, identify opportunities and grow revenue.
• Leadership: Support and develop the two existing employees, define responsibilities.
• Recruitment: Identify staffing needs and help recruit and onboard new colleagues.
• Operational management: Ensure day-to-day activities run smoothly and hands-on when needed.
• Planning & logistics: Coordinate logistics, monitor rental equipment availability, communicate with customers and transporters.
• Financial management: Prepare budgets/forecasts, monitor costs and margins for sustainable performance.
• Process improvement: Improve processes and scale organisation as demand grows.
• Collaboration & reporting: Report monthly on commercial/financial results and operational performance.
