Job summary

Statkraft UK is seeking a GIS Manager to lead the UK GIS team, deliver hands-on GIS work, and shape governance in line with central IT strategy. The role is hybrid, with responsibilities spanning leadership, delivery, and cross-team collaboration.

The successful candidate will drive GIS standards, data management, and effective tool usage across UK projects, while travelling occasionally to UK and international sites and events.

Qualifications

• University degree or GIS Diploma with mapping experience.
• Proficient in MS Office suite.
• Knowledge of ArcGIS Pro, ArcGIS Enterprise and/or ArcGIS Online, geodatabases, and FME and/or Python.
• Ability to adapt to new software and systems.
• Experience leading teams or clear leadership aptitude.
• Desirable: Registers of Scotland or HM Land Registry compliant plans.

Responsibilities

• Lead and develop the UK GIS team.
• Manage reporting, procurement and supplier relationships.
• Implement GIS governance, standards, and best practices in line with central IT direction.
• Ensure compliance with GIS policies, data management procedures, and approved tools across UK projects.
• Support and promote the effective use of GIS solutions across the business.
• Provide GIS expertise to development, project delivery, asset management, and operations teams.
• Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders, including suppliers and the global GIS community.
• Contribute to continuous improvement of GIS capabilities and ways of working.
• Undertake site visits, attend industry events, and maintain professional development.
• Support wider business initiatives and strategic projects as required.
• Occasional UK and international travel.
