Job summary

Hitachi Energy UK Limited is seeking a GIS Technical Advisor to support safe installation, testing, and maintenance of Gas Insulated Switchgear across the UK. After training, you will own projects, coordinate on-site activities, and ensure customer satisfaction consistent with Hitachi Energy’s standards.

You will collaborate with internal and external stakeholders, manage field reports, and uphold safety and quality protocols in a hybrid/remote environment across the UK.

Qualifications

• HNC or equivalent in electro-mechanical engineering.
• Experience in the power generation, transmission, and distribution industry or transferable skills.
• Experience and/or certification in Gas insulated switchgear installation is desirable (Technical training is provided).
• Proven leadership abilities, capable of managing and motivating teams.
• Good analytical and proactive problem-solving skills to handle project challenges.

Responsibilities

• Take ownership of the coordination and execution of on-site installation and maintenance activities
• Use your working knowledge of Gas Insulated Switchgear to make informed decisions on technical matters
• Proactively collaborate with both internal and external stakeholders to ensure projects/services are safely and successfully delivered
• Ensure compliance with safety regulations and implement necessary quality assurance measures to minimize project risks
• Build relationships with our customers, pursue new business opportunities, and ensure a high level of satisfaction
• Prepare field-related reports, protocols, and updates on site progress
