Job summary

VWFS UK in Milton Keynes seeks a knowledgeable Data Protection Specialist to join our Legal & Compliance Team. You’ll ensure compliance with UK data protection laws, advise senior leaders, and support the DPO in statutory duties.

You’ll lead initiatives from managing personal data breaches to overseeing risk and regulatory engagement. You’ll drive continuous improvement in data protection governance, collaborate across the business, and play a key role in privacy-related projects and

Qualifications

• Proven data protection advisory experience within Compliance or Legal.
• Strong understanding of ICO guidance and regulatory expectations in consumer credit or retail banking.
• Ability to manage complex, time-sensitive workloads with precision.
• Skilled in researching, analyzing and interpreting regulatory information and presenting findings.

Responsibilities

• Provide expert guidance on UK data protection laws to the business.
• Maintain Registers of Processing Activities (ROPA).
• Assist with Data Protection Impact Assessments (DPIA).
• Lead breach management, MI reporting and liaison with the ICO.
• Support DSARs, complaints, and investigations.
• Collaborate with Legal & Compliance to drive improvements.
