Job summary

Octane Recruitment Limited's client, a fast-growing automotive fast-fit business, is seeking a Tyre Technician at their Matlock centre. You will fit and repair tyres, and support brakes, exhausts, and basic servicing.

The role offers substantial in-house training, career progression, and staff discounts, with a 42.5 hour week and occasional Saturdays. A driving licence and relevant NVQ/Level 2 qualifications are required.

Qualifications

• Valid UK driving licence held for at least 6 months (Essential)
• NVQ/IMI or City & Guilds Level 2 in Light Vehicle Maintenance and Repair or equivalent
• Level 2 qualifications in Mechanical Engineering, HGV, LCV or PSV Vehicle Maintenance and Repair will be considered
• At least 1 year of experience working as a Tyre Technician

Responsibilities

• Carrying out accurate tyre fitting, replacements and repairs
• Completing fast-fit mechanical work, including exhaust and brake repairs and replacements
• Carrying out basic servicing work
• Maintaining accurate documentation in line with company policies and procedures
• Ensuring all work is completed to a high standard and in line with industry-leading standards
• Ensuring customers' vehicles are left clean and free from any dirt, oil or marks resulting from the work carried out

Job description

Our client, one of the UK's fastest-growing fast-fit automotive businesses, is currently looking for a Tyre Technician based at their retail centre in Matlock.

As a Tyre Technician, you will be responsible for carrying out accurate tyre fitting and repairs, as well as supporting with a range of fast-fit mechanical work, including brakes, exhausts and basic servicing.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Tyre Technician looking for a long-term career with excellent training and progression opportunities.

£29,000 - £31,000 basic depending on experience and qualifications

OTE

Approximately £3,600 achievable bonus

Shift and schedule

Monday to Friday, 08:30 - 17:30, 42.5 hours per week; Saturdays on a rota.

Tyre Technician Responsibilities

• Carrying out accurate tyre fitting, replacements and repairs
• Completing fast-fit mechanical work, including exhaust and brake repairs and replacements
• Carrying out basic servicing work
• Maintaining accurate documentation in line with company policies and procedures
• Ensuring all work is completed to a high standard and in line with industry-leading standards
• Ensuring customers' vehicles are left clean and free from any dirt, oil or marks resulting from the work carried out
• Working with the rest of the workshop team to achieve targets
• Working safely and in line with company health and safety procedures

To be a Tyre Technician you will need

• Valid UK driving licence held for at least 6 months Essential
• NVQ, IMI or City & Guilds Level 2 in Light Vehicle Maintenance and Repair, or equivalent. Level 2 qualifications in Mechanical Engineering, HGV, LCV or PSV Vehicle Maintenance and Repair will also be considered
• At least 1 year of experienceworking as a Tyre Technician
• A passion for the Automotive industry and a desire to learn and develop further
• The ability to work effectively as part of a team
