Octane Recruitment Ltd is actively seeking a Tyre Technician for a leading fast-fit automotive business in Workington. You will fit and repair tyres, and support with brakes, exhausts and basic servicing.

We’re looking for a candidate with at least 1 year of Tyre Technician experience, a valid UK driving licence, and a passion for automotive services. The role offers training, progression, and a generous bonus potential.

Qualifications

• Valid UK driving licence held for at least 6 months.
• NVQ/IMI/City & Guilds Level 2 in Light Vehicle Maintenance and Repair or equivalent.
• At least 1 year of experience as a Tyre Technician.

Responsibilities

• Carrying out accurate tyre fitting, replacements and repairs.
• Carrying out fast-fit mechanical work, including exhaust and brake repairs and replacements.
• Carrying out basic servicing work.
• Maintaining accurate documentation in line with company policies and procedures.
• Ensuring all work is completed to a high standard and in line with industry-leading standards.
• Ensuring customers' vehicles are left clean and free from dirt, oil or marks.
• Working with the workshop team to achieve targets.
• Working safely in line with health and safety procedures.

Job description

Our client, one of the UK’s fastest-growing fast-fit automotive businesses, is currently looking for a Tyre Technician based at their retail centre in Workington.

As a Tyre Technician, you will be responsible for carrying out accurate tyre fitting and repairs, as well as supporting with a range of fast-fit mechanical work, including brakes, exhausts and basic servicing.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Tyre Technician looking for a long-term career with excellent training and progression opportunities.

OTE: Approximately £3,000 achievable bonus

Shift and schedule: Monday to Friday, 08:30 - 17:30, 42.5 hours per week; Saturdays on a rota.

Responsibilities

• Carrying out accurate tyre fitting, replacements and repairs
• Completing fast-fit mechanical work, including exhaust and brake repairs and replacements
• Carrying out basic servicing work
• Maintaining accurate documentation in line with company policies and procedures
• Ensuring all work is completed to a high standard and in line with industry-leading standards
• Ensuring customers' vehicles are left clean and free from any dirt, oil or marks resulting from the work carried out
• Working with the rest of the workshop team to achieve targets
• Working safely and in line with company health and safety procedures

To be a Tyre Technician you will need:

• Valid UK driving licence held for at least 6 months – Essential
• NVQ, IMI or City & Guilds Level 2 in Light Vehicle Maintenance and Repair, or equivalent. Level 2 qualifications in Mechanical Engineering, HGV, LCV or PSV Vehicle Maintenance and Repair will also be considered
• At least 1 year of experience working as a Tyre Technician
• A passion for the Automotive industry and a desire to learn and develop further
• The ability to work effectively as part of a team
