Job summary

A Tyre Technician is sought for our client, a fast-growing UK automotive business, at their Carlisle retail centre. You will fit and repair tyres, carry out fast-fit mechanical work including brakes, exhausts and basic servicing, and support the workshop team to hit targets.

You should have a valid UK driving licence, Level 2 in Light Vehicle Maintenance and Repair, and at least 1 year of Tyre Technician experience.

Qualifications

• NVQ/IMI/City & Guilds Level 2 in Light Vehicle Maintenance and Repair or equivalent.
• Level 2 qualifications in Mechanical Engineering, HGV, LCV or PSV Vehicle Maintenance and Repair will also be considered.

Responsibilities

• Carrying out accurate tyre fitting, replacements and repairs.
• Completing fast-fit mechanical work, including exhaust and brake repairs and replacements.
• Carrying out basic servicing work.
• Maintaining accurate documentation in line with company policies and procedures.
• Ensuring all work is completed to a high standard and in line with industry-leading standards.
• Ensuring customers' vehicles are left clean and free from any dirt, oil or marks resulting from the work carried out.
• Working with the rest of the workshop team to achieve targets.
• Working safely and in line with company health and safety procedures.

Job description

Our client, one of the UKs fastest-growing fast-fit automotive businesses, is currently looking for a Tyre Technician based at their retail centre in Carlisle.

As a Tyre Technician, you will be responsible for carrying out accurate tyre fitting and repairs, as well as supporting with a range of fast-fit mechanical work, including brakes, exhausts and basic servicing.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Tyre Technician looking for a long-term career with excellent training and progression opportunities.

Location: Carlisle

Pay / salary: £34,500basic depending on experience and qualifications

OTE: Approximately £3,600 achievable bonus

Shift and schedule: Monday to Friday, 08:30 - 17:30, 42.5 hours per week; Saturdays on a rota.

Tyre Technician Responsibilities

• Carrying out accurate tyre fitting, replacements and repairs

To be a Tyre Technician you will need

• Valid UK driving licence held for at least 6 months Essential
• NVQ, IMI or City & Guilds Level 2 in Light Vehicle Maintenance and Repair, or equivalent. Level 2 qualifications in Mechanical Engineering, HGV, LCV or PSV Vehicle Maintenance and Repair will also be considered
• At least 1 year of experienceworking as a Tyre Technician
• A passion for the Automotive industry and a desire to learn and develop further
• The ability to work effectively as part of a team
