Job summary

Octane Recruitment Ltd's client, a fast-growing UK auto service, is seeking a Tyre Technician for their Ripley retail centre. You will fit tyres, carry out repairs and assist with fast-fit mechanical work such as brakes and exhausts, plus basic servicing.

This role offers long-term career prospects with strong training and progression opportunities. Mon-Fri 08:30-17:30, 42.5 hours, Saturdays on a rota, with a salary of £29,000–£31,000 plus a ~£3,600 bonus.

Qualifications

• NVQ/IMI/City & Guilds Level 2 in Light Vehicle Maintenance and Repair or equivalent.
• Level 2 qualifications in Mechanical Engineering, HGV, LCV or PSV will be considered.
• Valid UK driving licence held for at least 6 months.

Responsibilities

• Carry out accurate tyre fitting, replacements and repairs.
• Perform fast-fit mechanical work including exhaust and brake repairs.
• Carry out basic servicing work.
• Maintain documentation in line with company policies.
• Ensure work is completed to high standards and customers' vehicles are clean after work.
• Work with workshop team to achieve targets and follow health and safety procedures.

Job description

Our client, one of the UK’s fastest-growing fast-fit automotive businesses, is currently looking for a Tyre Technician based at their retail centre in Ripley.

As a Tyre Technician, you will be responsible for carrying out accurate tyre fitting and repairs, as well as supporting with a range of fast-fit mechanical work, including brakes, exhausts and basic servicing.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Tyre Technician looking for a long-term career with excellent training and progression opportunities.

Location: Ripley

Pay / salary: £29,000 - £31,000 basic depending on experience and qualifications

OTE: Approximately £3,600 achievable bonus

Shift and schedule: Monday to Friday, 08:30 - 17:30, 42.5 hours per week; Saturdays on a rota.

Key Responsibilities

• Carrying out accurate tyre fitting, replacements and repairs
• Completing fast-fit mechanical work, including exhaust and brake repairs and replacements
• Carrying out basic servicing work
• Maintaining accurate documentation in line with company policies and procedures
• Ensuring all work is completed to a high standard and in line with industry-leading standards
• Ensuring customers' vehicles are left clean and free from any dirt, oil or marks resulting from the work carried out
• Working with the rest of the workshop team to achieve targets
• Working safely and in line with company health and safety procedures

Requirements

• Valid UK driving licence held for at least 6 months – Essential
• NVQ, IMI or City & Guilds Level 2 in Light Vehicle Maintenance and Repair, or equivalent. Level 2 qualifications in Mechanical Engineering, HGV, LCV or PSV Vehicle Maintenance and Repair will also be considered
• At least 1 year of experience working as a Tyre Technician
• A passion for the Automotive industry and a desire to learn and develop further
• The ability to work effectively as part of a team
