Octane Recruitment Ltd is currently helping a fast-growth UK automotive retailer find a Tyre Technician for their Fareham centre. The role covers tyre fitting and repairs, plus supporting fast-fit mechanical work such as brakes, exhausts and basic servicing.

This is a long-term career move with strong training and progression opportunities. The position is based in Fareham with a 42.5-hour week from Monday to Friday, plus Saturday on rota.

Qualifications

• Valid UK driving licence held for at least 6 months.
• NVQ/IMI/City & Guilds Level 2 in Light Vehicle Maintenance and Repair, or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Carrying out accurate tyre fitting, replacements and repairs.
• Completing fast-fit mechanical work, including exhaust and brake repairs and replacements.
• Carrying out basic servicing work.
• Maintaining accurate documentation in line with company policies and procedures.

Job description

Our client, one of the UK’s fastest-growing fast-fit automotive businesses, is currently looking for a Tyre Technician based at their retail centre in Fareham.

As a Tyre Technician, you will be responsible for carrying out accurate tyre fitting and repairs, as well as supporting with a range of fast-fit mechanical work, including brakes, exhausts and basic servicing.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Tyre Technician looking for a long-term career with excellent training and progression opportunities.

Location: Fareham

Pay / salary: £30,000 - £32,000 basic depending on experience and qualifications

OTE: Approximately £3,600 achievable bonus

Shift and schedule: Monday to Friday, 08:30 - 17:30, 42.5 hours per week; Saturdays on a rota.

• - Carrying out accurate tyre fitting, replacements and repairs
• - Completing fast-fit mechanical work, including exhaust and brake repairs and replacements
• - Carrying out basic servicing work
• - Maintaining accurate documentation in line with company policies and procedures- Ensuring all work is completed to a high standard and in line with industry-leading standards
• - Ensuring customers' vehicles are left clean and free from any dirt, oil or marks resulting from the work carried out
• - Working with the rest of the workshop team to achieve targets
• - Working safely and in line with company health and safety procedures

To be a Tyre Technician you will need:

• - Valid UK driving licence held for at least 6 months – Essential
• - NVQ, IMI or City & Guilds Level 2 in Light Vehicle Maintenance and Repair, or equivalent. Level 2 qualifications in Mechanical Engineering, HGV, LCV or PSV Vehicle Maintenance and Repair will also be considered
• - At least 1 year of experience working as a Tyre Technician
• - A passion for the Automotive industry and a desire to learn and develop further
• - The ability to work effectively as part of a team
