Job summary

Smart Education are recruiting a Tutor to work in Walsall, delivering 1:1 tutoring in home or residential settings. You will differentiate lessons for students aged various stages, with a focus on English, Maths and Science, in line with needs and learning plans.

The role requires a QTS/QTLS/PGCE or equivalent, an enhanced DBS, and at least 1 year of UK teaching or tutoring experience, including SEN/SEMH knowledge. Hours are flexible and pay is £26.62 per hour.

• DBS enhanced or willingness to obtain
• QTS/QTLS/PGCE or equivalent with subject specialization or tutoring experience
• Minimum 1 year teaching or tutoring UK experience
• Experience/knowledge of SEN/SEMH working with children/young people

Responsibilities

Job Requirements of a Tutor:

• An enhanced DBS on the update service or the willingness to acquire one

• Have a (QTS / QTLS / PGCE), Subject Specialism or tuition experience supporting with English, Maths and/or Science

• Experience, Knowledge and Understanding of working with children/young people with additional learning needs (SEN/SEMH)

Role Responsibilities of a Tutor:

• Being a tutor involves yourself working in a home setting; this may be the family home or a residential setting for LAC. You will be working 1:1 with students from various backgrounds and differentiating needs; students ages can range from key stage 1 to further education depending on where your experience is best suited

• Developing personalised learning strategies for students who are out of mainstream education
• Supporting a young person s re-engagement in education
• Developing personalised learning strategies for students who are out of mainstream education
