Job summary

Vision for Education is seeking a Tutor in Tameside for flexible, long-term 1:1 tuition roles. The role supports students with SEND, delivering Maths and English up to GCSE, across homes, libraries and schools. Sessions vary 1–5 hours per day, 2–5 days a week, starting Sep 2026.

Applicants should be qualified teachers (QTS/QTLS/PGCE or equivalent) with SEND experience, strong relationships, and a passion for helping young people progress.

• Qualified teacher with SEND experience.
• Experience delivering Maths and English.
• Ability to build strong relationships with students, families and professionals.
• Passion for supporting young people and their development.
• QTS/QTLS/PGCE or equivalent qualification.

Responsibilities

• Deliver 1:1 tuition for students unable to attend mainstream education.
• Support pupils with SEND needs and diverse learning requirements.
• Deliver Maths and English sessions up to GCSE level.
• Work across settings including homes, libraries and school sites.
• Collaborate with social workers and SEN teams to monitor progress and feedback.

About the Role

• Deliver 1:1 tuition for students unable to attend mainstream education
• Support pupils with a range of SEND needs
• Deliver Maths and English sessions up to GCSE level
• Sessions range from 1-5 hours per day, from 2 to 5 days per week
• Flexible working across different settings, including students' homes, libraries, or school sites
• Long-term placements to provide consistency and structure for students
• Work alongside social workers, SEN teams, and other professionals to support and feedback on student progress

Requirements

• Teaching qualification (e.g QTS, QTLS, PGCE or equivalent)
• Experience working with SEND students
• Confident delivering Maths and English
• Strong relationship-building skills
• Passion for supporting young people
