Job summary

Teaching Personnel Ltd is seeking experienced Primary and Secondary 1:1 Tutors to deliver personalised educational support in homes or school settings around Ipswich. You will work flexible daytime hours, mainly Monday to Friday, matching school terms and local demand.

Successful candidates will hold QTS or equivalent, with UK national curriculum delivery experience and strong communication. A valid DBS update service check and driving licence are desirable to travel between tuition locations;

Primary & Secondary 1:1 Tutor - Ipswich

Location: Ipswich and surrounding areas

Hours: Flexible, Part-time (Monday to Friday, school hours)

Pay Rate: Competitive (dependent on assignment and Local Authority)

About the Role

TP Tutors is looking for experienced Primary and Secondary 1:1 Tutors to deliver personalised educational support to students in homes or school settings across Ipswich. This role focuses on helping pupils who may be out of mainstream education, require academic intervention, or have Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) / Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver engaging, tailored lessons in English, Maths, and core curriculum subjects aligned with the UK National Curriculum.

  • Support vulnerable learners and students requiring targeted intervention.

  • Track academic and personal progress, completing detailed session logs after every class.

  • Work collaboratively with schools, Local Authorities, and families to achieve positive outcomes.

Essential Requirements
  • Qualifications: Fully Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an equivalent recognized teaching qualification.

  • Experience:Teaching or tutoring experience delivering the UK National Curriculum.

  • Skills: Strong communication, patience, and a flexible, nurturing approach.

  • Compliance: Enhanced DBS certificate on the Update Service (or a willingness to obtain one) and the legal right to work in the UK.

  • Travel: A full UK driving licence and access to a reliable vehicle is desirable due to travel between tuition locations.
