Job summary

Responsibilities

  • Deliver engaging lessons across Primary, Secondary and GCSE subjects.
  • Plan and adapt learning programmes to meet individual needs and styles.
  • Support pupils with SEND, SEMH needs, EHCPs and targeted intervention.
  • Deliver inclusive teaching strategies to build confidence and independence.
  • Monitor progress and complete detailed session records after every lesson.
  • Collaborate with schools, Local Authorities, families and professionals to achieve positive outcomes.

1:1 Tutor – Primary, Secondary, GCSE & SEND, Dudley (DY4)

Location: Dudley (DY4) and surrounding areas

Hours: Flexible, Part-time (Monday to Friday, school hours)

Pay Rate: Competitive (dependent on assignment and Local Authority)

About the Role

TP Tutors is seeking experienced Primary, Secondary, GCSE & SEND 1:1 Tutors to deliver personalised educational support to pupils in homes, schools, and community settings across Dudley (DY4) and the surrounding areas. This role focuses on supporting children and young people who may be out of mainstream education, require academic intervention, or have Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) and Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver engaging, personalised lessons across Primary, Secondary and GCSE subjects in line with the UK National Curriculum.
  • Plan and adapt learning programmes to meet each pupil's individual needs, abilities, and learning style.
  • Support pupils with SEND, SEMH needs, EHCPs, and those requiring targeted academic intervention.
  • Deliver creative, inclusive teaching strategies that build confidence, engagement, and independence.
  • Monitor academic and personal progress, completing detailed session records after every lesson.Work collaboratively with schools, Local Authorities, families, and other professionals to achieve positive outcomes for learners.
  • Create a safe, supportive, and motivating learning environment where every pupil can thrive.
Essential Requirements

Qualifications: Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an equivalent recognised teaching qualification is preferred but not essential.

Experience: A minimum of two years' UK teaching or tutoring experience delivering the UK National Curriculum is essential. Experience supporting Primary, Secondary, GCSE, or SEND learners is highly desirable.

Skills: Excellent communication, strong behaviour management, patience, adaptability, and the ability to build positive relationships with young people from a range of educational backgrounds.

Compliance: An Enhanced DBS certificate on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one) and the legal right to work in the UK.
