Job summary

Teaching Personnel Ltd in Cambridge is seeking experienced tutors for flexible, one-to-one tuition across Primary, Secondary, GCSE and SEND pathways. Roles are temporary with potential for ongoing and permanent work, delivering high-quality lessons in homes, schools or other settings.

You will assess learners, tailor sessions to needs, track progress, and build strong relationships with students and families.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 2 years UK teaching or tutoring experience.
  • Experience across Primary, Secondary, GCSE, Functional Skills, or SEND.
  • Enhanced DBS on Update Service or willingness to obtain one.
  • QTS, PGCE or equivalent qualification desirable but not essential.

Are you an experienced teacher, tutor, or SEND specialist looking for flexible work where your expertise can genuinely transform a young person’s educational journey? TP Tutors is seeking passionate educators to deliver high-quality one-to-one tuition across the CB1 Cambridge area.

Learners require a range of support—from academic catch-up and exam preparation to specialist SEND intervention. Tuition is delivered in homes, schools, and alternative education settings, helping learners overcome barriers, build confidence, and achieve meaningful progress.

Whether you are a qualified teacher, experienced tutor, or SEND professional, this role offers flexible working alongside the opportunity to make a real and lasting impact.

The Role

You will deliver tailored one-to-one lessons designed around each learner’s individual needs, abilities, and goals. This allows you to adapt your teaching approach, build strong relationships, and provide focused support that drives progress and engagement.

You may support learners across Primary, Secondary, GCSE, Functional Skills, Alternative Provision, and SEND pathways. Each learner is different, giving you the opportunity to use your subject knowledge and creativity to inspire success.

Subjects We Support

English, Mathematics, Science, Primary Curriculum, Literacy and Numeracy, Functional Skills, GCSE subjects, Humanities, Modern Foreign Languages, Computing, Creative Arts, and other National Curriculum areas.

What We’re Looking For
  • Minimum 2 years' UK teaching or tutoring experience
  • Experience across Primary, Secondary, GCSE, Functional Skills, or SEND
  • Strong communication, planning, and behaviour management skills
  • Ability to deliver engaging, personalised learning
  • Reliable transport across the CB1 Cambridge area
  • Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willingness to obtain one
  • QTS, PGCE, or equivalent qualification desirable but not essential
Desirable Experience

Experience supporting learners with ASC, ADHD, SEMH, Dyslexia, or SLCN, as well as working with EHCPs, Alternative Provision, or home tuition settings.

Location

Assignments are based across the CB1 Cambridge area. Tutors must be able to travel to homes, schools, and alternative provisions during weekday school hours.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
