Job summary

Calibre8 Recruitment Ltd is seeking a Workshop Technician for a Global Leading Manufacturer in Stockport. You will be in the workshop focusing on centrifugal compressors and steam turbines, performing fitting, disassembly, inspection and assembly with potential light machining.

Ideal candidates have a background in rotating equipment, an apprenticeship or HNC in mechanical engineering, and a drive to learn. Overtime is available and long-term growth opportunities exist.

Qualifications

• Must have fitting skills and be driven to learn.
• Experience with rotating equipment such as compressors and turbines.
• Qualification or apprenticeship as machinist or fitter; HNC+ in mechanical engineering preferred.

Responsibilities

• Disassembly, measuring, cleaning and re-assembly of components.
• Calibration, inspecting bearings, shafts and blades.
• Balancing rotors after training.
• Work on compressors and turbines in the workshop.
