Job summary

Paragon Social Care is seeking a Mental Health Support Worker in Peterborough/Cambridgeshire. The role focuses on supporting a young person aged 11–17 with complex emotional and mental health needs in a long‑term setting.

You will build trusting relationships, encourage independence, and provide emotional support during distress. A driving license is preferred, and the role requires flexibility across shifts, including days and nights.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting young people with complex emotional and mental health needs.
• Capability to remain calm, patient and emotionally regulated in challenging situations.
• Full UK driving license and access to a vehicle is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Support daily living routines to promote stability and wellbeing within the home.
• Provide trauma-informed therapeutic support and guidance to build resilience.
• Maintain accurate records of incidents and interventions according to safeguarding requirements.
• Participate in supervision and mandatory training to maintain professional standards.
• Transport the young person to appointments, activities or education.
• Collaborate with external professionals (e.g., CAMHS, social workers, emergency services) for coordinated care.
