Job summary

Paragon Social Care is seeking a compassionate Mental Health Support Worker to join a specialist team in Peterborough/Cambridgeshire. You will work 12-hour shifts, days/nights, supporting young people aged 11–17 with complex emotional and mental health needs on a long-term solo placement.

Responsibilities include building trust, promoting independence, and coordinating with CAMHS and social services. A full UK driving license and flexibility are preferred for this rewarding role.

Qualifications

• Experience with trauma-informed approaches is desirable.
• Ability to remain calm and consistent in challenging situations.
• Ability to build trusting relationships with young people.

Responsibilities

• Support daily living and routines to promote stability and wellbeing.
• Provide therapeutic support using trauma-informed, grounding and emotional regulation techniques.
• Maintain accurate records of incidents, interventions, and communications.
