Job summary

Paragon Social Care seeks a compassionate Mental Health Support Worker (Youth) to support a young person with complex emotional needs in a long‑term solo provision in Peterborough/Cambridgeshire. You will build trust, ensure emotional safety, and guide independence through consistent, empathetic interactions.

The role involves daily living support, therapeutic guidance, and collaboration with CAMHS and other professionals.

Qualifications

• Experience within prison services, secure setting or hospital would be a bonus.
• Mental health, youth work, social care, or psychology qualifications are advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Support Daily Living and Routines, promoting stability and wellbeing in the home.
• Provide Therapeutic Support and Guidance using trauma-informed techniques and emotional regulation strategies.
• Maintain Accurate Records of incidents and communications.
• Participate in supervision and mandatory training to sustain professional standards.
• Transporting the Young Person to appointments, activities or education as needed.
• Work collaboratively with external professionals (e.g. CAMHS, social workers, emergency services) for coordinated care.
