Job summary

Connection Support in Northampton is recruiting a Support Worker to join our brand new Supported Accommodation Service. You will provide trauma-informed, person-centred support to adults experiencing homelessness, helping them build confidence and move towards independent living.

You will work full-time, across shifts including weekends and bank holidays, with a rolling rota; the role offers a supportive, inclusive environment and opportunities for learning and development.

Qualifications

• Experience of supporting vulnerable adults or young people who are homeless or at risk, including mental health issues or substance misuse.
• Ability to work flexibly across shifts, weekends and bank holidays.
• Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office, including Word and Excel.
• Experience of maintaining accurate records and updating support information.
• Understanding of causes of homelessness and challenges moving to settled accommodation.
• Awareness of housing and welfare benefits systems.
• Ability to research and access information about local community resources.
• Knowledge of strengths-based or trauma-informed approaches to support.

• Help build confidence, independence and stability toward independent living.
• Build trusting relationships and support service users to access appropriate resources.
