Job summary

You will work as part of a small, consistent team, providing emotional and practical support, helping with daily routines, education, life skills, and safeguarding.

Qualifications

• Experience working with vulnerable young people, ideally in a residential or education setting.
• Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare (or willingness to enrol within 6 months).
• Strong communication, patience, and emotional resilience.
• Understanding of safeguarding, risk, and trauma-informed care.
• Flexible availability including sleep-ins, evenings, and weekends.

Responsibilities

• Provide emotional and practical support in line with the young person’s individual care plan.
• Help maintain structure, safety, and routine throughout the day and night.
• Support with education, social skills, and life development.
• Contribute to daily handovers, key documentation, and safeguarding practices.
• Role model healthy communication, behaviour, and problem-solving.
• Work collaboratively with a small, consistent team to deliver outstanding care.
