Job summary

Helping hands Inc. at 9a Althorpe Street, Leamington Spa, is seeking a compassionate Support Worker for 18 hours per week.

The role focuses on trauma-informed care for clients affected by trauma, homelessness, abuse, and related challenges. You will provide direct support, facilitate group activities, and advocate for clients across health, housing, and social services, while maintaining safeguarding practices and building trusting relationships within the charity.

Qualifications

• Education: GCSEs or equivalent in English and Maths beneficial.
• Experience: Experience working with vulnerable women, particularly those impacted by trauma, abuse, homelessness or addictions or have lived experience.

Responsibilities

• Direct support and case management: conduct one-to-one sessions to assess needs and develop tailored support plans.
• Facilitate group sessions and activities to encourage self-expression, skill-building and community integration.
• Be creative with ideas for weekly drop-in sessions to improve attendance and retention.
• Advocate for clients navigating health, legal, social and housing services to promote independence.
• Engage with and build trusting relationships with clients.
• Lead breakfast provision on a rota with other support workers.
• Help clients with educational, training and employment needs to develop skills.
• Promote volunteer placements within Helping Hands and external organisations.
• Adhere to safeguarding and health and safety policies and procedures.
