Job summary

Witherslack Group is seeking a compassionate Teaching Assistant to work with children and young people with Autism Spectrum Disorder and SEMH needs. You will help them learn, develop abilities and raise self-esteem, using a trauma-informed approach and building strong relationships with pupils.

Ideally you have classroom experience; if not, comprehensive training is provided. The role offers a supportive environment, generous holidays and a contributory pension, with a clear path for progression

Qualifications

• Ideally classroom experience; training provided in-house.
• Experience working with pupils with SEND is desirable.
• Resilience and dedication to support pupils' learning and self-esteem.

Responsibilities

• Support pupils with Autistic Spectrum Disorder and SEMH needs in lessons.
• Use trauma-informed, nurturing approaches to help pupils learn at their own pace.
• Collaborate with teachers and therapists to identify approaches that help pupils feel secure.
