Job summary

Care & Support Services is recruiting a Senior Support Worker for a brand-new therapeutic home in Cannock. You will be a key member of the home's leadership team, leading daily shifts, modelling professional conduct, and supporting decision-making.

You will mentor and guide support workers, work with the Deputy and Registered Manager on audits and regulatory checks, and help implement routines, emotional regulation strategies, and risk management plans to keep young people safe.

Qualifications

• Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare (or higher) – required.
• Experience in residential care with young people with EBD, ADHD or complex needs.
• Confident leading shifts and mentoring junior staff.
• Skilled in safeguarding, de-escalation, and therapeutic approaches.
• Reliable, reflective, and emotionally consistent.

Responsibilities

• Lead daily shifts, model professional conduct, and support decision-making.
• Mentor and guide support workers during challenging or high-pressure situations.
• Work with the Deputy and Registered Manager on audits, reports, regulatory checks.
• Help implement routines, emotional regulation strategies, and risk management plans.
• Build trusting relationships with young people through reflective and therapeutic practice.
• Ensure home is placement-ready and compliant with regulatory standards.
