Job summary

Affinity Staff Limited is seeking a resilient Residential Support Worker to join a Solihull-based children’s residential provider. You will deliver day-to-day stability, structure, and therapeutic support to children who have experienced trauma and complex needs.

The role offers flexible shifts (day, waking night, and sleep-ins) to fit your schedule, with weekly pay and training in de-escalation and safeguarding. A calm, empathetic approach is essential.

Qualifications

• Experience with vulnerable children in residential settings or similar roles.
• Ability to communicate clearly with children, families, and staff.
• Demonstrated resilience and empathy in challenging situations.

Responsibilities

• Deliver person-centred care aligned with safeguarding and care plans.
• Build trusting relationships to support emotional well-being.
• Support daily routines including education attendance and activities.
• Use de-escalation techniques to manage challenging behaviors.
• Keep accurate shift logs, incident reports, and risk assessments.
• Contribute to a safe, nurturing home environment for residents.
